What a wonderful life

Recently I decided I'd become stale and I needed something, new, something exciting in my life. Perhaps I could take up a new challenge like horse riding or buy a motorbike. But last time I was on a horse my bum ached for days. As for a motorbike…I'm not a man having a mid life crisis!

Maybe I could buy something frivolous and fantastic. A new slinky dress? Ridiculous high heel? But I don't have the body for a slink dress and, oh, I do like comfy shoes. I have enough pairs of shoes I can only walk in and out of restaurants in. Now I want ones I can wear for more than 5 minutes at a time.

Perhaps I could join a group? I did lots of political ones when I was young but I'm not sure I have the energy for that anymore.

I sat and thought and thought and thought and…. I bought a new sun hat, a sun lounger for the garden and sat out there with a pile of great books by wonderful authors.

Does life get any better than that?

Knights and Butterscotch is now available to buy from the Total-E-Bound!

TEB can send books directly to Kindles, Nooks and iPhones. So it should be as easy as pie!

 http://www.total-e-bound.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=&P_ID=2320
A story of modern-day knights, paint-splattered artists and a lightning bolt of attraction that hits hard enough to make a knight think he's going crazy. And then things get complicated.

The year is now, the place is somewhere like here but the feeling is very different. Matti Elkin is a modern-day knight and, while he may not have a horse or a suit of shining armour, he's brave and true, has a sense of duty and honour a mile wide and a passionate belief in his king.
There's a war on and the knights are fighting hard, but while on R&R Matti is hit hard with an overwhelming attraction for Jamie, a tall, handsome painter.
Jamie makes his head spin and his cock harden, and has him acting in ways that make him question his own sanity. But when the war takes an appalling turn, they are both thrown into a world of confusion that has them questioning everything they thought they knew.

KNIGHTS AND BUTTERSCOTCH

KNIGHTS AND BUTTERSCOTCH is now available for pre-order at the Total E-bound website. I am so pleased I want to do a pathetic little dance of happiness.

It goes on pre-release on 26th August 2013 – when it becomes available to buy directly through the TEB website. Then on general release on 23rd September 2013 - the book becomes available through all outlets.

I'm too English, I find self-promotion really hard, but I think this story is good. I'm damned proud of it.

Shoes and pretty young men…

I have new sandals. They were meant to be comfy for everyday wear but quite pretty.

As you can see there isn't a lot too them but somehow they still managed to rub. So I found a seat in my local shopping centre for a bit of a rest and a spot of people watching. Which is when I saw him.

A young man/boy – I'd guess about 22ish – walking along on his own, lost in thought. I stared. Of course I did, it's only natural. But the great thing about being a 'woman of a certain age' is that I'm almost invisible at times. Plus I was sitting, tucked away in a corner, trying to wrap tissue around my rubbed-raw toe.

But let me tell you about him. Slim, with the most gorgeous sharp-boned hips you can imagine. Low slung skinny jeans but not the ridiculous kind. You could only see the waistband of his pants, not the whole things. Not so skinny you'd worry if he could ever have children. Big dark eyes, long black curls. Oh if only I had the nerve to take a picture because he was so very, very pretty.

I came home and looked for a picture as near to him as I could find but I couldn't get anything right. He was a bit like Simon from 'The Returned'

but younger, slimmer, more…. The thing about him was the air of lost vulnerability around him. It was so strong it made me want to look, and I wasn't the only one. As he walked along, oblivious, lots of people looked. I bet many of them couldn't tell you why they were looking, he wasn't that classically good looking, he was too pretty, but oh, that 'something' about him. It was incredibly attractive.

I just had a thought, he was more like Andrew VanWyngarden from MGMT.

So, please, Father Christmas, could I get to see that young man again. I don't want him to keep – I can only breathe in for so long – but I would like to see him. Pretty please?

Say hello to Iyana Jenna!

Dear Faith, thank you again for the chance to be on your blog again. :D
This is my seventh short story to be published and the fourth with Alfie Dog Fiction. I’m very glad. I really liked this one. My editor helped a lot in improving this story. This short story is, well, short, about 4,500 words and the price is £0.39 or $0.60. It’s m/m and it has ghost in it, but this is not a horror story. Think of it like the movie Ghost, and not The Conjuring. :)
One question for you: Have you ever had a supernatural experience? Please share your answer in the comment section for a chance to win A FREE E-BOOK of this story.

Summary
In the middle of the snow on their way to get home for Christmas, Connor Williams crashed his car into a tree. He was badly injured but his boyfriend that was also in the car, Zach Tyler, was barely alive. How then, that morning in Connor's room, was Zach by his side, waiting for him to wake up?

Excerpt 1

Zach found Connor still awake in the middle of the night, eyes straining at the screen of his PowerBook; his forefinger never stopped clicking. He didn’t even realize when Zach entered the study and came to stand behind him.
Zach yawned. “What are you doing?” He tried to peep into the screen. It looked like the website of a local airline. Zach got no reply until he repeated his question. This time he got a grunt.
“Is something wrong? Hey, Connor?” He leaned over Connor’s shoulder. “Why are you checking a flight schedule? Don’t we have tickets?”

Excerpt 2

The road was dark and empty, but Zach kept running and he nearly wept in joy when there was light from a car coming from the opposite direction.
“Hey! Over here! Please!”
The car drove past him, as if he didn’t exist, to where he’d left Connor. Zach called out once more and chased after it. He hoped against hope that it would see their car stuck into a tree.

Excerpt 3

Instead of all hell breaking loose when both Connor’s and his parents came, it was a hushed grief and mourning. Zach accompanied them to the morgue. His mother’s swollen eyes—Zach thought she hadn’t stopped crying since she first heard of his death—were full of unshed tears even before the morgue staff showed her his body. And she sobbed as she buried her face into Zach’s father’s chest when they took the sight of their son lying there lifelessly. Zach was relieved at the condition his body was in. There was no more blood, and the cuts and bruises were not as bad as before. His father squeezed his mother like he would not let her go again, ever.

A little about me:

Hi!
I'm Iyana Jenna. I like writing, romance, and man love so as you can see on this site, you're mostly going to find m/m stories whether they are for adults or young adults. They are not going to be too heavy on explicit sex, though, as many say that my stories are considered sweet romance.
When I don't write, I teach English to children, teens, and adults. I also work in the curriculum and materials department in an institution. Among my responsibilities are writing books and tests.
